Six Outlets, two switches, and one wireless Router.
I learned a TON about networking, and had to answer some tough questions before beginning:
Can CAT cables be split like phone lines? No.
Which cable to use? I used a 10GBit CAT6a F/FTP 500ft roll, which is overkill in quality.
What tools do I need? Try to stay with the same brand and don't skimp too much.
What type of plugs to use? This is now obvious: Always use Pass-through plugs.
I spent time with my Uncle, Dan, wiring CAT6a lines through the attic and around the house, and we did a clean job that should last decades.
Grandma Brock was paying about $295/mo for the Comcast Xfinity's Triple Pass along with one extra phone line.
I formulated a plan in 2019 to reduce her bill amount, and in November 2021, it was finally approved and acted upon!
For the voice lines: One was transferred to Tello, and grandma's main phone (4123) was transferred to Google Voice for free with the Obi200 device! Obi has since stopped their free voice line guarantee, but the phone line still works. It could stop working at any time. :(
For the cable line, I installed four Chromecast with Google TV devices, and Grandma spent many years using them. Due to her decline, she is now using the less-technical Roku devices.
I woud have preferred Grandma to use something other than Comcast Xifinity, but that is the only wired service that she has available to her.
I have two PCs with 8-slot SATA HDD cards.
I have been aware of Crytocurrency since about the mid 2010s. I had Bitcoin back when it was impossible to get anywhere near a market price, and had to fumble through dark web to get a Bitcoin wallet.
CHIA crytocurrency attracted my attention because of its advertised very low environmental impact and HDD basis, not GPU or CPU.
I have about 190TB of HDD space (after RAID) that I use for CHIA cryptocurrency.
I am currently running an OVHCloud cluster for Ark Survival Ascended "HEAVENandEARTH - " and a Palworld server "HEAVENandEARTH - 0.85x HardMode." I have learned a ton from this work and probably saved some $$ doing it myself.
