FOSS and Linux distros are very important to I. Most of the people that I have met that are tech-literate are actually hostile to Linux, not just because of its complexity but because of how non-capitalistic it is. While I have lots of ideas of why massive corporations like Microsoft/Windows (and unending-lists of others) are truly beyond-evil, I also must recognize that by being the literal evil abomination of the world, they are pushing human beings away from electronics - and that is definitely a good thing. An evil of Linux and FOSS is the immersion in full-tech and the inability or unwillingness to survive without tech.
I currently use Bazzite Linux, and am pretty darn happy with it. After some negative expereriences using Nobara, I had thought that KDE was unpleasant. Now, I would basically never go back to Pop!_OS or Ubuntu based systems. Bazzite is based of Fedora Silverblue, and I am rather enthusiastic about that. For my low-power PC which is meant for always-on, I still use Ubuntu Mate, despite how poorly maintained it seems to be!
I have a lot of strong opinions about tech and FOSS, but finding the right wording and the attention-to-detail is challenging. Now is not the time!
